Historic Medford Village Business Association Annual Scarecrow Contest.
Disclaimer!!!! Michelle has nothing to do with Frontier Interactive's scarecrow....although, I should add, it was on a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia, where I first saw politics-of-the-day being mixed into the season's decorations.

Last year in 2000, I entered a scarecrow, "The Drug Store Cowboy", in the adult-individual division. It earned two points. The judges may not have liked it but The Philadelphia Inquirer did.   I was hoping to beat that total this year. On this page, a selection of 2001 entries are pictured.

New Year.  Same Target.
I guess I have a thing for over-development.  This year's scarecrow continues the theme, "Easttown-Eyrestown Factory Outlet MegaPlex Theater Usher of 2009."  Just so I state it clearly, our entry is a political satire and resembles only a fictional character that exists in the mind of it's creator.  Read all about it.  See the Easttown-Eyrestown tract before it gets built into a factory outlet center.

John Kearns, age 3, stands proudly next to "Steven" the Theater Usher of Medford's fabled movie theater Megaplex.
