Accessing Your Email Account from Home

In the September 2000 issue, you learned how to write/read email offline.
Here's another email tip that may help you as the holidays unfold:  Access,
read, send your email from home (or any location with an internet
connection). Using your browser's email program (typical for most of us),
set up a new POP or IMAP email account in which you specify
"careerfrontier.net" as the incoming and outgoing mail server, and specify
your username and password (supplied to you by Frontier Interactive). Save
your downloaded messages to a floppy disk (File/Save As) to transport
messages back to the office.  Please call us 609-714-7100 or email
active@frontieria.com for assistance.
********** THIS WILL SAVE YOU AT LEAST ONE COMMUTE TO THE OFFICE THIS WINTER.

[Image] VR (Virtual Reality) Imaging Technology Lets Views See All Sides of
the Product.

We are VERY excited about
3-D VR Imaging. VR is a three-dimensional imaging
process that enables site viewers to see a product from 360-degrees with a
simple click of a mouse. Frontier Interactive is teaming up with CHI
Associates, Medford, NJ, to offer VR to current and future clients.
Companies which manufacture and/or market tangible products will want to
evaluate VR technology for their own web sites. Plans are underway for the
construction of a full-service VR studio capable of photographing products
ranging in weight from less than an ounce (diamond rings) to over 500 pounds
(cast iron wood stoves).  See a sample of how VR looks and works by checking
out this URL:

Upgrading Server to Free BSD.

Frontier Interactive clients will soon be enjoying faster and more secure
web site service as we upgrade our server to a Free BSD operating platform.
We have been using a BSD O/S platform since 1998.  Ignasi Mas Lopez,
Frontier Interactive (Spain), will be assisting in this conversion.  Watch
for a separate email from Ignasi in the next two weeks with details specific
to your account. Free BSD conversion will be completed by December 10, 2000.

New Dulles, Virginia, Data Center Now Online.  Take the virtual tour.

Frontier Interactive will be utilizing a new data center in Dulles,
Virginia, USA, when we convert to Free BSD.  This new data center is a
state-of-the-art facility featuring excellent network connectivity. Take an
online tour of our new facility at:
http://home.verio.com/products/hosting/datacenter/tour/

The tour is an interesting look inside the new center and brings to life
many of the hardware aspects of server operations that you never see, and
therefore, never think about.  How do you think people see your site
anyway?  Check out the tour.

server.  After four weeks, your new site or improved site will be on the
internet.  Course runs consecutive Wednesday evenings, Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31,
from 7-9pm, in the computer lab at Lenape High School. Registration fee is

Buying Rank Position on Goto.com

http://www.goto.com  is simply a search engine where you can bid for the top
positions for various search keywords. It cuts through all the "search
engine position" baloney, and simply says "put your money where your mouth
is."  You can bid on as many keywords as you want, and set your bids at any
level. In contrast to banner ads, where (even if you're on a
pay-per-clickthrough deal) you can pay $.15 to $.50 or more per click, on
Goto you can get clicks a lot cheaper, often for a penny or two per click.
It all depends on how popular your keywords are with other advertisers.
Recently,  Goto.com has announced they are going to be providing sponsored
links for both AOL Search and Netscape Search, which will magnify the amount
of clicks you can get via Goto.com  Contact us for more information on
establishing an account with goto.com.  The first step is to evaluate the
keywords you want to use and what is the current bid amounts for those
keywords.

Frontier Interactive Adds French Translation to Roster of Services.

We are pleased to now offer translation from/to French to the list of
languages Frontier Interactive can translate for your web site content.
Translating web content is problematic in two respects. First, there is the
translation of the content the viewer reads.  It has to be translated and,
in our view, verified by persons familiar with the culture as well as the
language.  Second, there is the matter of translating the keyword META tags
to match the keywords entered by viewers in France or Europe. For example,
the word "marketing" in English translates as "vente" in French which means
"sale" in French.  But viewers in France looking for a marketing firm are
not going to enter "vente" when looking for a firm that handles marketing.
Frontier Interactive established an office in Europe as a sure-fire way to
verify translation accuracy. We do not recommend web-based translation
sites.

Frontier Interactive now offers translation services for Spanish, Catalan,
French, Italian.  We are in discussions with an organization in Asia to
assist with Chinese language translation.   Stay tuned for more.

Santa Says.....Olympus D-460 Zoom

You will be bombarded with ads for low-cost digital cameras this holiday as
the manufacturers try to move out the old stock. My pick to look for is the
Olympus D460 Zoom.  At $399.00 retail, probably less, this is a great pick.
I've used this camera, I like it for it's glass lens that captures excellent
color, extra features and great flash.  See an image taken with this camera
at this URL:
